Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Great restaurant! The food was incredible and the staff was the best around! We had our son's baptism celebration here, and I worked with the manager Chris to plan it all out. When we walked in, the area was beautifully set up and before we knew it we had delicious hot rolls and drinks were being poured. The appetizers were delicious! We had the calamari, eggplant involtini and the antipasti boards. We wanted to offer 4 entrees to our guests instead of having them order from the menu and see pricing, etc. Chris had mini menu cards typed up and at each place setting. They were very elegant. I personally had the Paella and it was full of seafood, chorizo and chicken. Not only was the food great, but the portions were huge! I think all of our guests had their leftovers boxed. I am personally looking forward to having my leftovers. We took our own baptism cake to the restaurant and when they brought out the dessert plates I teared up a little. They had placed the cake slices on long rectangular dishes, added a dollop of their fresh whipped cream, and in chocolate sauce wrote out our son's name on each dish. It was such a nice touch. We will definitely be going back, and I will be sure to recommend them to family and friends!

Wonderful service and good, frssh authentic food. Price was appropriate and service was timely. Our waiter was the friendly, while professional and very knowledgeable. The owner/manager came and spoke with us personally and was very inviting. We will be goingback :) ps) we brought our 14 month old grandson and they were very accomodating; the atmosphere was just lively enough where if he had fussed it wouldn't have been humiliating!!

Definitely a fan of B. Pinelli's. Great food, great drinks, great waitstaff and great atmosphere. The crunchy meatball appetizer is D-Lish!
(4)Lou C.
Tried the steak and eggs, really not impressed. Beautiful cut steak ruined by being over seared and under cooked. Medium shouldn't be this bloody! I'll have to give them another try. Scallop risotto has been awesome before, I should have went with that!

The food is AMAZING. I love Italian food and let me tell you "this is Iralian food". The service was outstanding, very attentive of their guests. Nothing less said. Come eat at B.Spinelli's

Bridal shower today! Food and service were excellent-- Chicken Piccata was moist and delicious. Nice atmosphere - perfect for such an occasion. Would definitely return for dinner or lunch!!

Hubby and I went out for date night. We used to come here more frequently, but it's hard to get out with the kiddos. Anywho Lets jump into the good stuff. I always get the chicken marsala. I order it with veg and potato and a side of extra mushrooms. The order came and my side car of mushrooms was gigantic! My lucky day! Until I tasted a huge honking mouthful. It was very bland. A huge let down for the mushroom lover. The chicken was mehhhhh, just ok. The potatoes were amazing, but loaded wÃth butter and garlic so they couldn't really go wrong. Next was the broccoli. One of my pet leaves is wet, watery just steamed broccoli diluting the integrity of the plate. The water from the mushrooms leaked into the sauce and made it just as bland as the mushrooms.

My Salmon Mozambique was an excellent special they should add it to the regular menu. Service was attentive. I notice the poor reviews are older. Perhaps they have updated the staff and menu. Please give this place a try. Highly recommend 1/2 price select bottles of wine on Wednesday ;)

Went for dinner as a party of 6 on Saturday night. We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation, which wasn't a problem, as we were sat promptly. Paul was our server, and he was excellent. Our water's were always filled and he was good about making suggestions (ie offering their peach flavored sangria when I ordered a glass of sangria-which was delish!) The rolls were piping hot and right from the oven (my favorite) and the whipped garlic butter they were served with was great. We started with a margherta pizza. Paul went above and beyond and served everyone a slice on our appetizer plates. I skipped the pizza and had a small garden salad w champagne vinigeratte, but it looked great (lots of cheese!) and everyone enjoyed it. For dinner, I had grilled chicken with rabe and cannellini beans over penne in a garlic/olive oil sauce. There was a perfect amount of sauce n the dish (I hate when my pasta is swimming in oil). There could have been more rabe in it, but it was very tasty. Other dishes at the table included eggplant parm, frutti di mare, a shrimp special and 2 other chicken dishes. Everything looked very good and everyone ennjoyed their meal and took home leftovers. Prices were reasonable too. For 6 entrees, an app, salad, 2 sangria's and 2(?) sodas, the total w/o tip was $140. Great value and service. I would definitely go back.

Nice visit, good meal, yes drove in from south county. Wife asked for cod done on one of their multiple sauces........not a menu item..... Answer was yes!! My cod, shrimp, scallop combo with lemon, ritz etc was great, nicely done moist fresh cod, mashed, and broc.....nice ized drinks, service great, Bill came by and checked on us, nice touch. Why not 5 star?.......The Hill it is not, but great value, dessert list multiple items, we did not order.....will return with or w/o coupon deal, miss the deli /cafe at nite place in Warwick, recommend the Lorenzo sauce on anything....thanks Bill and staff, oh great relaxed service by Celeste, thanks....

The garlic breadsticks with gorgonzola cheese sauce are amazing. I once had a dish like it at a place in Middletown that closed, so I'm excited to have a new, better rendition of them right in my neighborhood. The chicken parm is monstrous. I mean HUGE. You could split it between two (or three) people easily. The bar is a comfortable spot to dine, it's full of high tables and comfy chairs. I tend to prefer that sort of thing to wooden chairs, so the bar is where it's at for me! Outside they have a little fireplace and a couple tables too. If you're looking for good homestyle italian food with plenty of leftovers at a good price, this is a great spot. Everyone was super friendly, too. Oh, and lunch is super cheap too. They have $5 dishes (like spaghetti + meatballs) and the other lunch specials are all under $8 bucks.

Good was thoughtful and presented well. Service was on target. Would recommend highly for good local food.
(4)Victoria G.
This place is great, surprised by the low rating! The servers are attentive , the service is quick. The food is cooked perfectly to how you want it and everything just tastes great. The pizza there is absolutely delicious as well as the steak , chicken parm , fish and spaghetti. I think anything you get there would taste great. Definitely coming back.
(4)Steven G.
Went to Pinelli's for the first time and will surely be back! I had the best steak of my life. Better than any steakhouse I've ever been to. Service great also. Prices a little steep but the food was worth the money.
(5)Alex K.
Horrible sanitation, filthiest kitchen I've ever seen! They quickly cook the chicken for all chicken entrees in the cryolite rand leave the raw chicken in the heat all day. Kitchen is barley ever cleaned.

I dont usually go out to eat in my own town lol but since I got out of work late i thought i would try pinellis. Wow good choice. The staff was very attentive but it wasn't busy. the calamari was cooked just right and served right away so it was still crispy. I had the veal topped with eggplant and cheese. The only reason i'm not giving a 5 star was because the veal was over cooked. Part my fault because I should have thought how hard it is to stack all this food and keep hot with out over cooking veal. The chicken would have been better option. Who can beat kids eat free during summer too!
(4)Amy A.
Disappointing, as I had wanted to try this place for over a year. Dining room on main level was so loud on a Saturday night that it was difficult to hear others at my table. There was brown lettuce in the Caesar salad. Lots of brown lettuce. Batter on calamari appetizer was overly thick and heavy. Fried calamari was served soggy in the oil and garlic sauce. Sad, because the taste of the sauce was good. Chicken Parmesan portion was ginormous and over cooked. I would have preferred 1/3 of the portion, with attention to the preparation. The wait between courses was excessive. The waiter was very pleasant. Best part of the evening. Wish I had a different experience to report!
(2)Justin B.
Not my idea of a good Italian restaurant. They need to spend more time on quality than quantity. The dishes were large but the food had no flavor. The calamari was plain with the usual hot peppers but the breading was bland. My main corse was the biggest problem, a huge plate with my veal swimming in sauce. The veal was a little tough and the sauce was ridiculous. The side pasta was covered in a bland tomato puree. For the prices they charge the sauce should be homemade with tons of flavor. I do not like to write negative reviews but this is not a good representation of italian food. Even the service was poor, the hostess was very rude and the waitress was inattentive. RI has many great Italian restaurants, unfortunately this is not going on my list.

Not too bad. HUGE portions, big parking lot on the side of the building, and no wait on a Saturday night. Antipasti was "eh" - as in - I wouldn't pay for it (I had a coupon so it was free). We were served warm rolls with their housemade maple-butter. Tip: Ask for regular butter. If I wanted pancakes for dinner I would've gone to IHop. It would've been cheaper. My meal was some kind of gnocchi gorgonzola combination which wasn't bad. Gnocchi is heavy though. Consider the fact that they served me a punch bowl of it with a cream sauce - yeah, I was full. I'll probably give it another try - without the weird butter and try out something different, or maybe split a meal with a few people...

This was our first time visiting this location. We would give it 4 1/2 stars if we could. The service was incredible. Very attentive and great team players helping each other out. We didn't have kids with us but witnessed how great the staff is with kids. I ordered a caesar salad and was a tad disappointed. There was little dressing on the top and too much on the bottom. Something just wasn't right in the dressing. My wife started her dinner with a portabella salad. It was very fresh with lots of flavor and great dressing. Figs enhanced it nicely. For dinner I had the chicken gorgonzola. I was quite impressed. Fresh chicken, portabella, tomatoes and scallions. My wife had the lobster ravioli and loved it. Served with a vodka sauce and mascarpone cheese. A bit heavy, but full of flavor with a more than generous amount of lobster. The serving sizes are plentiful! The bread and homemade garlic butter were excellent. We were there on a Wednesday when ALL wine is half off! We had a $50 bottle of wine (in most restaurants) for $15! Desserts looked awesome, but we were stuffed. Our leftovers are enough for one more meal. We will definitely return to try many of the excellent options presented on the menu.

Yum! The food I ate was comparable to all of the Federal Hill restaurants I've been to (Andino's, Caffe Dolce Vita, etc.). The place is upscale yet comfortable (shorts are a-ok) and the service was spot-on. We started with the fried zucchini and it was a big heaping bowl of delicious zucchini with a nice ranch dipping sauce. For dinner I had veal topped with mozzarella/prosciutto on top of some delicious papardelle pasta. Portions are big so we skipped dessert. This is a place I know I'll be back to again and again...it was hard to choose an entree as they have just so many delicious things to pick from. Check it out, you'll like it! FYI - I don't know if they've heard the complaints about the bread as they served us three freshly-baked rolls with flavored butter instead of the sliced bread/olive oil some of the other Yelp reviewers complained about. The rolls were piping hot and the butter was excellent.
(4)B F.
Huge portions at a decent price. Food was good, but not amazing. I would give it 4 stars if it weren't for the host at the front...we arrived 4 min later than our reservation time and when we check in he states, "oh I almost gave your table away". Really? I don't need a host trying to slap me on the wrist with a snarky comment for being 4 min late... Rather unprofessional.
(3)Alison O.
No host to greet us upon entering. Our server, Paul, was very attentive, however, our food was disappointing. Over cooked, and lacking in flavor. Sorry to say we won't be back.

I recently DJ'ed at B. Pinnelli's for my friend's daughter's wedding reception. On a scale from 1-10 I would rate this establishment a 9. Food was delish...the all gentlemen staff I had to work with was outstanding, very very socialable and friendly and the guys were very upbeat. Which is always a plus because sometimes at weddings the staff of other places can be snippy becausethere is so much pressure. The manager Chris was very nice to me and the bridal couple.
(4)Paul W.
Nice place but food was disappointing. Bland and under seasoned. Clean facility and pleasant staff. All three entrees, cod fish, chicken parm, veal were nothing to write home about.
(2)Melody G.
First time here. Apps we got the zucchini, garlic bread & mozzarella. All three were really good. Before the entrees I hopped onto yelp and was reading the reviews and we couldn't believe the bad food reviews we were reading. Then our entrees came and we understood! They were all either really bland or really salty! Dessert was good, but nothing to call home about. Our waitress was rather scattered. One of the entrees was too salty to eat and when we told out waitress she said "oh, ok." started to remove the plate from the table then stopped and asked"Are you still eating this?" Yes we are still eating the dish we just told you was too salty! Even though only a few bites were taken out of it when we returned the dish, it was still on our bill. We will probably come back at some time, but try other entrees.

An evening of wine tasting is held fairly often at the wonderful B. Pinelli's Restaurant and it is always a great time. First of all, one walks into a beautifully decorated room filled with colorful linens, gorgeous floral arrangements, a display of the wines, and a sumptuous hors'd'oeuvre buffet loaded with cheeses, veggies and dips, pasta, salads, and even chewy cookies to sweeten the palate. There is no other wine tasting event like this one as this restaurant makes one feel so welcomed and leave so satisfied - for a very low cost. The August 20th theme was "The Classic Varietals" and included a phenomenal fresh white peach wine, La Crema Pinot Gris. It was lush and smooth - my favorite of the evening! The Lincourt Chardonnay from Santa Barbara County was tantalizing with its vanilla and coconut flavors. The third white wine was Fume Blanc from Dry Creek Vineyard and it was a strong citrus version. The Folie a deus Pinot Noir, Dona Paula Estate Malbec, and The Show Stopper Cabernet were all excellent reds. There is always a brief presentation about each wine, and sometimes there are prizes for guests who respond to questions asked by the lovely wine expert, Laurine Ryan Perry. It is a fabulous early evening of delectable enjoyment! Can hardly wait for the September 24th Tuesday Wine tasting!

No host to greet us. Finally brought to table by surly sever. Our server was great, however, not good enough to overcome gigantic portion of yuck food. Over salted, over cooked, didn't use real mozzarella. Not going back, sorry.

Great date night last Thursday! Half off bottle of wine special, bread, two apps, two entrees, priced around 60 bucks with something to take home. Great gluten free options- pizza crust was slightly sweet and very crispy (haven't tried the gf pasta). Regular food options are very generous and surprising- simple bolognese made better with fat lasagne like pasta. Bar staff has been consistantly helpful and accomodating (same bartender all 3 times I have been there). The Hibiscus martini is definitally something to try!

What a delightful experience! From the time we walked in to the time we left, service was excellent. We had an amazing meal. We started with the stuffies. This is one thing that you can compare place to place. I generally do not like stuffies that are fried and these were not. They had a nice crisp outside with a middle that was piping hot & delicious with a little added flare of chorizo in them. Next we had the peppercorn pork special and the Gorgonzola Chicken. Both were amazing! The sauces were outstanding really pulling the whole dish together. I can't wait to have leftovers! In addition they had a nice wine list. The dining room can be very romantic and personal and the bar is a fun atmosphere and look. I got to tour the reception facility upstairs and it was wonderful! There was beautiful decor and lots of windows. I'm already planning my next visit!

The food and service at this restaurant are right there at the top of the list. Great Italian food and good sized portions.
(5)Lucy R.
Amazing quality food with a wonderful atmosphere at a affordable price. Can't wait to return!!!

The gnocchi was probably the best I've ever had in the States. To tell you the truth, what I was looking forward to most was the antipasti plate as an appetizer and was a little disappointed at a few things. I wasn't crazy about any of the cheeses but that's not too big of a deal because I think they change cheeses frequently. The charcuterie seemed kind of cheap tasting compared to a lot of places that I've been to which was rather sad for me. But what was probably most surprising was the fact that the waiter didn't tell us what any of the meats or cheeses were. He was a mediocre (at best) waiter so I suppose it shouldn't have been that surprising but the fact that he didn't know sort of made me think that they don't really encourage their staff to memorize their cheeses and meats of the day. At every other place I've been to where I've gotten a cheese plate they always tell you the name, type and country of origin of each cheese. He didn't even know the names! In the end it was okay because I wouldn't ever seek out those particular cheeses but it would have been nice to know what to stay away from in the future. If you go I would suggest sitting in the bar area because the bar is HUUUUGE.
(3)Tony G.
we went there last sunday nite and the cannolli's were bad.. went there saturday nite and the baked cod was ammonia tasting. after telling the waiter that I couldn't have spicy food, he takes the cod back and brings mussels and pasta with beans and chourico. Cant eat it.. after leaving it untouched, he proceeds to charge me the price of the uneaten meal. well guess what, they won't be getting a third time. Eating in a dumpster would be better than eating in this place
(1)Vinny P.
The food is DELICIOUS!!...huge portions, well worth the money....We had the calamari puttanesca and the crunchy meatballs to start, then the penne with vodka sauce and shrimp (or chicken if you want) and the veal Lorenzo for entrees...the veal was in a excellent cream sauce, had a bit of a kick to it, but very tasty...the only reason why I didn't give Pinelli's 5 stars was our waitress took forever to take our order and I wasn't crazy about the bread....but still it was a very nice experience! If you like true, authentic Italian cuisine, I highly recommend it....I know I'll be returning!
(4)Ian M.
Quick seating, great food, a lot of food for the price. Plenty of parking. bread was okay, olive oil was excellent. penne alla vodka was good. meatballs and gravy was excellent too
(5)Jay G.
Valet parking, Federal Hill quality food, East Providence pricing. Can't get any better than that.
(5)Estelle M.
I was so disappointed in the service and follow-up from management that we had here one evening. Apparently, the night we ate there the place had been painted and being early diners the fumes had not left the place. I got so sick from the fumes I asked the waiter to let the manager know of the problem. He packed up my meal, my husband ate and we never saw the manager; even though the waiter told us he told him. The next day I called the manager and spoke with him. He took my name and email address and we have never heard from him. The food i took home was good and my husband enjoyed his meal; although he was quite ill later in the evening from the fumes. I detest being lied to and in this case it comes from the top down. We will never go back
